Bryn Du Doings Annoucements Resident Recommendations Baby Sitters Area HOT NEWS Area Curfews

Submit any news or announcements your would like our neighborhood to know about. For example, if you are planning a garage sale, send the information to Steve Herb, for posting here. This probably won't be enough exposure to sell all of your stuff, but you might spur a "block sale", or a "development-wide" sale.

Musicians for HireThe Granville Sting Trio is available and willing to play in the Granville-Newark-Columbus area. The three musicians will provide pleasant classical music for all occasions and are a great addition to any party or wedding as background sound or to enjoy during dinner.

Please contact Kristen Astorian at (740) 403-2958 or by email at cellistsfiddle@gmail.com for more information and or questions.

During the Winter months:Please do not ice skate (or walk) on any of the development's ponds except by the front entrance. Only the front entrance pond can freeze solid enough to be safe. The others are spring feed, and therefore could break through.

(Don't worry sports fans -- you should be home in time for the televised OSU game!)

If you live near a new neighbor, please contact them to make sure that they know about the picnic and are planning to attend!

If you can help with planning, set up, or clean up, please contact this year's organizers: Annette Flathers, Janet Chesrown, and Linda Neuenschwander.

Discussions about Renaming Part of Bryn Du Drive

(From the Granville Sentinel)

Article published Aug 24, 2006

Village may give tiny street its own name
The village is considering giving a tiny dead-end street on the east side of town its own name.

Council will hold a public hearing at its meeting Sept. 6 on a proposal to name a short stub off of Glyn Tawel Drive "Pren Tal Way."  The only resident on the street says delivery people and workmen have trouble finding his home, said Mayor Melissa Hartfield. It is listed as a Bryn Du Drive address, even though it doesn't connect to that street, said Village Manager Don Holycross. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Village Offices, 141 E. Broadway.

(history of this discussion)

An announcement was made in a recent email from the Village, showing one of the topics for discussion at the Thursday, June 29, 2006 meeting to be "Renaming portion of Bryn Du Drive". Read the email by clicking on the heading to this note.

Annual Yard Sale

[Original notice] In response to a notice placed in the newsletter, I have 6 families signed up so far for the Annual Garage Sale. There is still time to join in, although the sale is for July 14th and 15th.

Thanks,

[Update after the 2006 yard sale]

Hello, and a big thank you to all of the homeowners who participated in and patronized our annual Bryn Du Garage Sales.  We had 8 families participating and lots of traffic throughout the day.  Everyone I talked to had greater success than they had anticipated.  It was nice to share in the advertising costs and signage as well.  We would like to make this an annual event and hope that even more homeowners would participate the next time around.

Thanks again,
Christy Law
